Summary/objective

The Program Coordinator supports the mission of the Center for Teaching and Learning to implement professional development opportunities for Randolph educators. The person in this role reports directly to the Director of the Center for Teaching and Learning. This is a half-time position.

  • Must effectively carry out the essential duties and responsibilities of this position in a manner that consistently demonstrates Randolph College’s mission and core values in a positive manner.
  • Provide logistical support for faculty professional development.
  • Collaborate with campus partners to develop, sustain, and assess educational development initiatives.
  • Stay up-to-date with research, innovations, and emerging frameworks in teaching and learning, specifically those most relevant to liberal arts educational contexts.
  • Provide support to faculty designing courses and assessing learning outcomes.
  • Contribute to Center for Teaching and Learning communications.
  • Contribute to the overall success of the unit by performing all other essential duties and responsibilities as identified and/or assigned by the Director of the Center for Teaching and Learning
Competencies
Required:
  • Bachelors’ degree from an accredited college or university
  • Ability to communicate effectively with faculty, staff, and students.
  • Dynamic presentational and writing skills and the ability to speak compellingly to different audiences
  • A collaborative disposition and willingness to engage in difficult conversations
  • Demonstrated project management skills, including ability to prioritize and manage multiple complex projects
Preferred:
  • Master’s Degree from an accredited college of university
  • Experience in teaching and learning support for educators
  • Understanding of and desire to work within the liberal arts college context
  • Knowledge of trends in higher education, liberal arts education, and faculty development

Position typically works in an office environment.

Physical demands

Requires standing/walking/sitting for extended periods. May occasionally lift 10/15 lbs.

Travel required

May travel infrequently on College business.
