This is position is located in theBureau of Quality, Richland County.

Are you the One?We are looking for aProgram Coordinator II (Quality Improvement Specialist)who focuses on utilizing data-driven strategies to enhance clinic performance, improve patient care, and ensure compliance for pediatric practices within the QTIP (Quality through Technology and Innovations in Pediatrics) program. The specialist will work closely with clinic teams to monitor and evaluate key performance metrics, analyze data, and implement improvements to achieve clinical and operational excellence.

Key Job Duties:
  • Prepare reports and advise management on findings related to the data submitted by QTIP practices and make recommendations based on benchmarking with state and national data.
    • Work with QTIP staff and practices in the identification, collection, and documentation of data on QTIP-related topics of interest and their related activities.
    • Collects and performs analysis on quality improvement and other intervention documentation/data (i.e., QIDA data, PDSA cycles, quality improvement meetings, etc.)
    • Also analyzes Medicaid administrative claims, QIDA and HEDIS data to assess the impact on QTIP initiatives.
    • Prepare reports and presentations.
  • Under the direction of the QTIP Director, prepare and present QI content for pediatric practices involved in the QTIP Program.
    • Though QTIP Workshops, help practices develop goals and objectives and incorporate quality improvement techniques into their workflow.
    • Assist individual practice staff with data identification and collection of data to support and document their quality improvement activities.
    • Assist with the development of charts and analysis at both the practice and staff level.
  • Direct the creation and delivery of quality improvement skill development programs for the QTIP team within DHHS and the QTIP practices.
    • Assist and coach practice staff at each QTIP practice with their understanding of quality improvement (QI) techniques.
    • Deliver quality improvement training and support at both the individual practice level and across larger healthcare systems
    • Coordinate QI workshops, monthly calls and QI coordinator working groups.
  • Serve as an active team member and assist in facilitating meeting discussions during QTIP Site Visits, Workshops, and Monthly Calls.
    • These visits will require the operation of a vehicle and a valid driver’s license.
    • Meet with pediatric practices to expand current structures for quality improvement (QI) efforts within their offices.
    • Staff will collaborate with the project director and medical director to set meeting goals, present QIDA data and the other content of the visit.
  • Works with QTIP, state and national AAP, and QTIP advisory panel on the identification of QTIP areas of focus and their data capture.
  • Staff will work with practices, QTIP team, SCDHHS staff, the American Academy of Pediatrics (national and state) as well as other stakeholder to support quality messaging.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

A bachelor's degree and relevant program experience in processing data.

PREFERRED: Experience in a healthcare setting and an advanced skillset in manipulating and reporting on data in Excel.
