Brief Program Description – About The Family Lifestyle Program

Children’s National’s Family Lifestyle Produce Prescription intervention (FLiPRx) aims to address food insecurity and diet-related chronic disease among families with children in the Washington, D.C. region. The program reduces health disparities by removing barriers to healthy, high-quality food and providing education on nutrition, culinary skills, and stress management. We are seeking a program coordinator to assist with the delivery and evaluation of this produce prescription initiative.

Program Coordinator Desired Qualifications and Duties

The Family Lifestyle Program is looking for a full-time, benefits-eligible, fully remote Program Coordinator to manage our research team, oversee daily program operations related to participant experience and communication with external partners. The Coordinator will provide administrative and program support to plan, implement, and coordinate programs, events, and educational activities, as well as manage policies and office operations.

Qualifications

Ideal candidates will have a genuine interest in nutrition, health equity, community-based programs, and chronic disease prevention, along with:

  • Strong, compassionate communication skills with patients and families
  • Commitment to excellent customer service
  • Active problem-solving skills with timely follow-up and team communication
  • Research skills (quantitative and/or qualitative) with a desire to contribute to scholarly projects
  • Strong project management skills

Duties

The Program Coordinator will be responsible for:

  • Supervising daily program operations
  • Communicating with PIs, research assistants, participants, and external partners to ensure smooth operations
  • Contributing to regular reports for stakeholders
  • Tracking referrals, recruitment, enrollment, and data collection
  • Monitoring intervention delivery and troubleshooting operational issues

Minimum Education

High School Diploma or GED required.

Minimum Work Experience

At least 3 years of experience in program administration involving academic, medical, or research activities.

Required Skills/Knowledge

  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Experience with department budget and personnel management
  • Computer skills: Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint

  • Prepare documents, support project management
  • Update website, maintain mailing lists, coordinate schedules

Primary location: Washington, D.C., at CN Hospital (Main Campus)

Job type: Non-Clinical Professional, Regular, Day shift (9am-5pm, Mon-Fri)

Salary range: $57,200 annually
