About this opportunity:

The Salvation Army is currently looking for a Program Coordinator/ Driver to assist in planning, implementing, and supervising education and other program areas. This position is responsible for training, monitoring, and leading program staff, volunteers, and youth members, ensuring compliance with operational and safety standards.

Key responsibilities:

  • Introduces and executes programs in a safe manner and to positively impact the lives of youth through activities and services that measurably and progressively move youth individually to attain positive educational outcomes.
  • Collaborates with operations and program leadership to ensure promotion of youth develop skills in well-rounded program areas
  • Transport youth center members and staff to/from center and approved activities and events.

What we are looking for in you:

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in business, accounting, or social services

and

two (2) years’ progressively responsible experience in program management, administration and operation of a youth after school center or out of school time center

or

Three (3) years’ experience working in a similar youth serving organization,

or any equivalent combination of education/experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

The position requires afternoon, evening and weekend work hours as scheduled.

Required Certifications:

  • Valid Driver’s License (CDL Required or Willing to Obtain in 90 Days)
  • Must be able to obtain CPR and First Aid certification

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Ability to perform a variety of physical activities on a regular basis requiring constant motion (standing, walking, bending, squatting, climbing, reaching, pushing/pulling and hand-eye coordination) is necessary to lead and participate in a variety of youth programming and physical activities.

Ability to lift (or obtain assistance lifting) moderately heavy (30-60 lbs.) programming following appropriate safety precautions.

Ability to express or exchange ideas by means of spoken words, communicating orally with others accurately and clearly.

The ability to drive an approved vehicle to transport youth center staff and members in a safe manner obeying all driving requirements and standards.

Position requires travel within the community and to participate in off-site Center events.
