Job summary

Dexter Community Schools is seeking a Community Education Program Coordinator to develop engaging programs for all ages, coordinate courses and events, and ensure smooth operations with excellent customer service. You will work closely with instructors to tailor offerings to community needs and manage schedules, registrations, and billing where applicable.

Qualifications

• Degree required (Associates or higher) in business, communications, recreation, or related field.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work with instructors, staff and community members.
• Experience with program coordination, event planning and customer service.
• Familiarity with registration systems and basic financial processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop and coordinate Community Education courses, workshops, and events.
• Work with instructors to create program offerings reflecting community needs.
• Set up and maintain courses in the registration system with accurate schedules, descriptions, and fees.
• Monitor enrollment and adjust programs as needed.
• Serve as the main contact for instructors and participants.
• Provide courteous, timely customer service by phone, email, and in person.
• Support instructors with scheduling, logistics, and classroom needs.
• Ensure course listings, catalogs and online registration are accurate and current.
• Track attendance, maintain rosters, and process program evaluations.
• Assist with billing, payments, and refunds as needed.
• Generate reports and provide recommendations for growth and improvement.
• Flexibility to work days, afternoons, evenings, and weekends to supervise staff and programs.

Job Summary

The Community Education Program Coordinator plays a key role in developing and supporting engaging, high-quality programs for learners of all ages. This position is responsible for coordinating courses, workshops, and events that reflect the needs and interests of the community while ensuring excellent customer service and smooth program operations.
