THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The Program Coordinator (Administrative Officer 4) within the Bureau of Watershed Restoration and Nonpoint Source Management plays a vital role in facilitating the Commonwealth's initiatives related to the Chesapeake Bay Program Partnership. This includes overseeing Pennsylvania's Chesapeake Bay Phase 3 Watershed Implementation Plan, the Chesapeake Bay Watershed Agreement, the agriculture compliance program, and the Growing Greener and Section 319 grant programs, while also providing support to conservation districts.

In addition to these responsibilities, the Program Coordinator may assess current programs to enhance efficiency and collaboration across divisions and bureaus. This role involves identifying critical water and resource needs and formulating effective strategies for water quality management and watershed restoration. Your duties also encompass evaluating the progress of the bureau's programs and analyzing how this progress aligns with the overall goals and mission of the bureau.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • This position may require overnight and/or out of state travel.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
  • Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as an Administrative Officer 3 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration);or
  • Six years of experience in progressively responsible and varied office management or staff work, including experience in personnel management, budgeting, or procurement; and such training as may have been gained through graduation from a four-year college or university;or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
