Job summary

Program Coordinator 2 (WIC Program Coordinator PCN 061547)

This position is open to Alaskan Residents only.

This position is currently located in Juneau, AK. The position may be in Anchorage or Juneau depending upon the location of the most qualified candidate.

What you will be doing:

As the WIC Program Coordinator, you’ll play an important role in helping women, infants, and children in your community access essential nutrition services and support. You’ll lead daily WIC service delivery while providing nutrition education, breastfeeding support, referrals, and supplemental food assistance directly to families. You’ll help ensure services are welcoming, efficient, and consistent with state and federal WIC requirements. This position is located either in the Juneau Public Health Center in Juneau, AK, or located in the heart of Anchorage, in the Frontier Building in mid‑town Anchorage.

  • Planning and Evaluating: Organizes work, sets priorities, and determines resource requirements; determines short‑ or long‑term goals and strategies to achieve them; coordinates with other organizations or parts of the organization to accomplish goals; monitors progress and evaluates outcomes.
  • Organizational Awareness: Knows the organization's mission and functions, and how its social, political, and technological systems work and operates effectively within them; this includes the programs, policies, procedures, rules, and regulations of the organization.
