Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Western Territory is seeking a Program Cook for its Port Angeles operation. This full-time role (35 hours per week) involves planning, cooking, and serving breakfast and lunch, managing donations, and supervising volunteers while upholding health, safety, and Church policy standards.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED (preferred), a WA Food Handler Permit, a WA driver's license, and experience feeding 50+ people.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid WA State Food Handlers Permit.
• Valid WA State Driver's License and good driving record.
• Experience preparing and serving congregate meals for 50+ people.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare breakfast and lunch for Port Angeles residents.
• Cook and serve meals using standard portion controls.
• Maintain budget-conscious meal preparation with nutrition in mind.
• Ensure staff/volunteers wash hands and wear gloves; keep areas clean.
• Keep kitchen equipment in good working order and cleaned daily.
• Rotate and manage food donations and stock as needed.
• Supervise volunteers during kitchen and cleanup activities.
