Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Program Construction Manager to oversee multiple billion-dollar water and wastewater construction projects in the San Francisco area. You will plan, communicate, and mitigate risks to keep schedules, budgets, safety, and quality on track.

You will lead delivery processes, coordinate with program leadership and clients, and ensure construction activities align with overall program goals. A track record of managing complex programs and strong client relationships is essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related degree.
  • 12+ years of progressively challenging leadership experience on major design and construction projects.
  • 5+ years experience managing multiple construction projects as Project or Construction Manager on projects of at least $100 million.
  • Strong understanding of project delivery tools and metrics; history leading project delivery teams.
  • Proven track record in developing and maintaining client relationships leading to new/repeat consulting work.
  • Adept at interpersonal relationship building, conflict resolution, and leading diverse teams.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a Program Construction Manager - to oversee several major billion-dollar water, wastewater, and conveyance construction projects in the (location) area.

The Program Construction Manager (PCM) is responsible for careful planning, effective communication, and proactive risk management to mitigate or eliminate program risks that threaten the construction schedule, budget, safety, or quality. You’ll work with the program leadership and the clients in development and execution of the overall construction approach and resource allocation of manpower and support resources required to meet the delivery needs.

The PCM supports the Program Manager in defining and leading the delivery processes, tools, and execution of construction projects within the program. This role will align to support pre-construction and construction activities as requested to meet the overall delivery needs of the program.

Key accountabilities include eliminating/reducing financial surprises, improving clarity around performance expectations, establishing focus on project performance and delivering to expectations, focus on improving gaps in margin and operations performance and drive to achieve a state of quality control rigor and consistency.

Here’s what you'll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related degree.
  • 12+ plus years’ of progressively challenging leadership experience on major design and construction projects performing project management, project controls, procurement services and construction management for heavy civil and/or wastewater treatment plants, pump station, and pipeline projects
  • 5 plus years’ experience managing multiple construction projects as Project or Construction Manager on a project/program of at least $100 million of construction work with multiple active construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of project delivery tools and metrics, and a proven history leading project delivery teams to successfully meet client expectations
  • Proven track record in developing and maintaining strong client relationships that result in the creation and procurement of new and repeat consulting work.
  • Adept at interpersonal relationship building, conflict resolution, and leading diverse teams.

The base salary range for this position is $174,900.00 to $270,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
