Qualifications

Job description

Overview

Amtrust Financial Services, a fast-growing commercial insurance company, is seeking a Program Claims Manager. This position can be located in one of our claims offices, with the possibility of working remotely. The successful candidate will oversee Third Party Administrators handling General Liability, Construction, Excess, Medical Malpractice, and Trucking claims. Responsibilities include evaluating coverage issues, risk transfer opportunities, ensuring proper investigations, retaining appropriate experts, and employing effective negotiation strategies. The position reports to a Line of Business Director.

Responsibilities
  1. Provide guidance and feedback to drive results through Third Party Administrators.
  2. Manage and oversee assigned accounts.
  3. Assist in claim due diligence for new TPA or MGA/TPA partners.
  4. Lead new TPA program implementation.
  5. Evaluate TPA/Program performance with data analytics and communicate results.
  6. Draft and update service instructions for assigned programs.
  7. Assist with regulatory and compliance reporting.
  8. Ensure TPA compliance with best practices and litigation guidelines.
  9. Escalate service issues to senior management.
  10. Recognize exposures and ensure appropriate reserving.
  11. Evaluate coverage issues and risk transfer, especially with claims-made policies.
  12. Ensure proper investigations, retention of experts, and appropriate counsel utilization.
  13. Communicate exposures internally and externally.
  14. Formulate resolution strategies for optimal outcomes.
  15. Perform claim audits.
  16. Travel periodically for mediations, trials, or meetings.
  17. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  1. 7-10 years’ experience in handling or litigating complex commercial liability claims.
  2. Proficient in navigating paperless claim systems.
  3. High level of technical claim and legal knowledge.
  4. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  5. Ability to interact effectively with internal and external parties.
  6. Adaptability to changing situations and priorities.
  7. Effective influencing skills without damaging relationships.
  8. Skillful negotiation abilities.
  9. Texas designated home state adjuster license preferred.
  10. SCLA, CPCU, or AIC certification preferred.
