Job summary

RTX seeks a Program Chief Engineer for the Multi-Spectral Targeting System in McKinney, TX. The role leads two EOIR programs, guiding technical baselines, roadmaps, and customer engagements across design, software, and transition activities.

Role requires a STEM degree with 8+ years in EOIR or related aerospace, strong presentation skills to diverse stakeholders, and eligibility for US security clearance (Secret with potential Top Secret).

Qualifications

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM ) and a minimum of 8 years of prior, relevant experience.
  • Airborne Electro-Optic sensing systems design, integration and test, flight qualification, deployment, and production experience.
  • Experience presenting technical data and solutions to both technical & non-technical audiences, Sr. Level Internal & External stakeholders, and Customers.
  • Experience in a Lead Design Engineer, Program Chief Engineer, and/or Integrated Product Team Lead (IPTL) role.
  • Active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued Security Clearance is required prior to start date, with the ability to obtain a Top Secret Security Clearance after start.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

  • Oversee two EOIR programs providing sustainment support and transitioning advances in Electro-Optical Infrared (EOIR) technology.
  • Technical baseline updates, roadmap development, Senior level customer engagement, Product family development, Product line vision, strategy & goals, and proposal development.
  • Program lifecycles including Field Support, Software Development, and Technology Transition.
  • Primary technical contact for the Customer's Senior Engineering / Technical counterparts providing analysis, responding to technical inquires in a timely manner, and ensuring Customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to lead across a highly multi-disciplinary role, requiring experience across all design engineering disciplines, technical supplier management, business development, and program leadership.
  • Review and approve cost, schedule, and budget information for Estimate At Completions (EACs) and proposals.
  • Minimal travel is expected in this role.

  • Strong Systems and Design Engineering experience, with demonstrated ability to establish a strong technical baseline in a dynamic Program development environment.
  • Design and production experience with the Multi-Spectral Targeting System (MTS) and their family of products.
  • Familiarity with an agile hardware and software execution environment.
  • Design experience with infrared detector technology, precision servo, and laser systems.
  • Thorough understanding and familiarity with Raytheon Programs and EOIR product portfolios.
  • Technical and Cost Lead experience on major Proposals and large Programs.
  • Earned Value Management System (EVMS), Basis of Estimate (BOE), RFI / RFP shaping and response experience.

Salary

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
