Job summary

Belmont University is seeking a qualified Program Chair for the School of Physical Therapy. The role leads strategic direction, governance, curriculum development, and accreditation activities while guiding faculty, staff, and students within the College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences.

The chair will supervise faculty, manage budgets, and foster clinical partnerships, with a focus on program quality, student success, and scholarly activity.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated capacity to engage in high quality scholarly activity.
• Ability to advise, instruct, manage, motivate and evaluate students.
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written.
• Experience with accreditation processes or program evaluation.
• Ability to collaborate across departments and with external partners.

Responsibilities

• Set vision and priorities for the School of Physical Therapy and align with CPHS and Dean-level leadership.
• Lead governance, planning, and policy implementation for the school.
• Oversee curriculum design, course scheduling, program reviews, and accreditation support.
• Supervise and mentor faculty and staff; manage workload and performance reviews.
• Drive student recruitment and retention strategies and clinical partnerships.
• Manage budgets, funding, and resource allocation for the school.
