About the Role
Perimeter is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Program Associate to support the execution of our programs. Working closely with program managers and cross-functional teams, this person will help track program performance, analyze key metrics, coordinate workflows, and ensure that important tasks and deliverables move forward on schedule.
This is an entry-level opportunity for someone who enjoys working with data, solving operational problems, and bringing structure to complex projects. The ideal candidate is quantitative, highly proficient in Excel, and comfortable managing details across multiple workstreams. They will be curious, organized, and eager to build a career in program management within a fast-moving, mission-driven organization.
Responsibilities
- Support program managers in the day-to-day execution of programs across multiple workstreams.
- Collect, organize, and analyze program data to monitor performance and identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and prepare clear, accurate updates for program leadership and other stakeholders.
- Manage program ticketing workflows, including creating, responding, and following up on tickets to support timely resolution.
- Monitor program milestones, deliverables, dependencies, and deadlines, escalating potential issues when appropriate.
- Use Excel and other analytical tools to organize data, perform quantitative analyses, reconcile information, and support decision-making.
- Help prepare recurring program reports, presentations, meeting materials, and other stakeholder communications.
- Coordinate meetings, document decisions and action items, and follow up with owners to ensure commitments are completed.
- Identify gaps or inefficiencies in program processes and help develop practical improvements.
- Maintain accurate, organized, and up-to-date program documentation.
- Assist with additional analyses and operational projects as program needs evolve.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, engineering, mathematics, statistics, operations, life sciences, or another quantitative or analytical field.
- 0-2 years of relevant professional experience, including internships, co-op programs, research, or other project-based experience.
- Strong quantitative reasoning and data analysis skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, lookups, data cleaning, and the ability to build clear and reliable trackers and analyses.
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments, deadlines, and competing priorities.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to summarize data and communicate key takeaways.
- A proactive and collaborative working style, with the judgment to ask questions and escalation issues when needed.
- Comfort working with ambiguity and adapting as priorities change in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Capabilities & Experience
- Experience supporting projects or programs through an internship, academic project, research role, or prior employment.
- Experience developing KPI reports, operational reports, or other data-driven performance-management tools.
- Familiarity with basic statistical analysis, SQL, Python, or another analytical tool.
- Interest in biotechnology, biosecurity, public health, artificial intelligence, government programs, or advanced technology.
