The Program Assistant (Per Diem Float) provides as-needed operational and resident support coverage across all Addiction Services residential program locations. This position does not have a regular or guaranteed schedule and requires flexibility to work varying shifts and locations based on program needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays to help maintain a safe, structured, and recovery-oriented environment.

Duties:

  • Assist staff with the day-to-day operations of the residential program.
  • Document notable observations, incidents, and significant interactions in accordance with program expectations.
  • Conduct routine rounds, security checks, and routine or random searches of residents, personal property and program facilities in accordance with program procedures.
  • Administer breathalyzer and drug screening tests, as assigned.
  • Oversee resident self-administration of medication in accordance with agency policy and training.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team.
  • Maintain professionalism, appropriate boundaries, and respectful communication in all interactions.
  • Transport residents using company vehicles as needed.
  • Complete all required training and competency requirements within assigned timeframes.
  • Maintain flexibility to work varying shifts and provide coverage at all Addiction Services residential program locations as assigned.
  • Work a minimum of one shift per month to maintain active employment status.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Director, House Manager, or designee.

Qualifications:

  • Valid driver’s license is required.
  • Computer literacy is a must. Candidates must be able to navigate electronic health systems, and Microsoft office applications such as Microsoft Teams. Specific training provided upon hire.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience working in residential, behavioral health, human services, direct care, or similar settings preferred but not required (includes experience as a CAN, HHA, PCA, Residential Counselor, Milieu Counselor or related role)
  • CPR certification is required. Training can be provided by the agency and must be successfully completed within six (6) months of hire.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism, appropriate boundaries, and respectful communication in all interactions.
  • Ability to work independently, adapt to changing program needs, and work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
