The HARBORVIEW MEDICAL CENTER - POST ANESTHESIA CARE UNIT (PACU) has an outstanding opportunity for a PROGRAM ASSISTANT.
WORK SCHEDULE
• Part-Time / 30 hours per week
• Day Shift
POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
• Perform general clerical duties such as answering and screening telephone calls; processing mail and assembling and sending information to patients; monitoring supply inventory and ordering and stocking supplies; and maintain record of services ordered.
• Escort patients to various treatment areas.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Float between the ASU and PACU patient care area and the two Waiting Areas as needed for patient and family check-in as well as providing clerical duties as directed by the Charge RN or Management.
• Respond to patient questions and provide directions to specified areas such clinics, units, ancillary departments, support services, parking, and eating facilities.
• Assist patients in accessing hospital and community services by consulting and making referrals to appropriate resources.
• Ensure positive and professional first impression of the clinic while communicating pleasantly and in a manner that optimizes patient privacy.
• Schedule new, return, ancillary, and procedure appointments consistent with patient needs and scheduling guidelines.
• Obtain authorization and complete required documentation.
• Coordinate obtaining interpreters for patients.
• Arrange for patient transportation to outside facilities and coordinate patient transportation within facility.
REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
High school graduation or equivalent AND two years of full-time clerical experience
OR
equivalent education/experience.
