Responsibilities

  • Explain and solve licensing issues using Title XIII laws and regulations with clarity.
  • Provide guidance on State liquor laws, administrative rules, and procedures to staff and licensees.
  • Review monthly Beverage Tax Reports to verify compliance and assist licensees with correct filings.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service in person, in writing, and by phone.
  • Maintain inventory of product samples and documents.
  • Subjects to criminal background and reference checks.

Summary:

To perform paraprofessional duties assisting the Liquor Commission Examiner III in the Beverage Tax Program, to include reviewing and auditing tax reports for completeness and proper reporting in accordance with NH Liquor Laws, administrative rules and Federal Alcohol regulations. Communicates with the licensee community both verbally and in written form.

Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience and/or each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education/Experience:

Associate's degree and 1 year of experience OR equivalent combination of 3 years of education and experience after completion of high school. Education and experience must be in accounting or auditing work with the responsibility of providing program information to others.

License/Certification:

Valid Driver’s License or access to transportation

Other Requirements:

Must be willing to maintain appearance appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities as determined by the agency appointing authority.

  • Ability to discuss Liquor laws with direct shippers, their representatives, or with employees.
  • Ability to write business letters and make necessary telephone contacts.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with direct shippers, other employees and the general public.
  • Ability to work out controversial matters in a tactful manner.

Responsibilities:
  • Acts as an official representative of the agency in explaining, problem solving, using creative licensing with regards to Title XIII laws, administrative rules and procedures and be able to articulate and express solutions to all agency employees, administrative personnel, licensees, and the citizens of the state.
  • Provides guidance, information, explanation, problem-solving, and resolution with regards to the State of New Hampshire Alcohol, Beverage, and Tobacco (Title XIII) laws, administrative rules and procedures to agency employees, administrative personnel, licensees, and the citizens of the state.
  • Conducts reviews and audits of monthly Beverage Tax Reports to verify there are no discrepancies and to confirm compliance with the rules. Provides assistance to wholesaler, beverage vendor, and manufacturer licensees to ensure completion of forms for accurate filings and evaluates forms for proper filing, verifying proper receipt of funds.
  • Provides exceptional customer service while assisting licensing with state liquor laws, overdue payments, monthly reporting, compliance, and rules in person, in writing, and over the telephone in a clear and concise manner.
  • Maintains inventory of samples received for product approval by following product receipt procedures, labeling processes, and maintaining the Division’s product sample directory.
  • In addition, applicants are subject to a criminal background check and reference check.
