Program Assistant II (4-H Educator) Clay/Union County

Working Title: Program Assistant II (4-H Educator) Clay/Union County

Physical Location: Vermillion, South Dakota

Job Responsibilities:

Provide timely 4-H Youth Development research-based information, resources, education, leadership, and support to meet the needs of youth in the county and/or reservation while building relationships to enhance and carry out the mission of SDSU Extension.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Knowledge of:

  • Computer systems and software (i.e., MS Word, Outlook, Excel);
  • Planning, teaching, and evaluating educational programs for a variety of youth audiences;
  • Supervisory techniques.

Skill & Ability to:

  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and excellent verbal communication skills;
  • Demonstrated organizational and time management skills;
  • Work as a contributing member of a team;
  • Plan events and manage a budget;
  • Collaborate on funding proposals or grants to support new and/or enhanced programming.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Child, Youth, or Human Development, Education, or other related fields with relevant youth development experience;
  • Previous 4-H or similar youth development experience;
  • Demonstrated use of technology in managing and/or delivering educational programs;
  • Experience in publishing materials and/or curricula.

Required License: Valid driver’s license

Comments: This position is classified as Program Assistant II. SDSU is a tobacco-free environment.
