Job Summary

Coordinate student loan programs, including determining eligibility, certifying, correcting rejected files, awarding and reconciliation of loan funds. Counsel students and parents on all sources of educational funding.

Responsibilities include

  • Develop and maintain a broad and detailed understanding of all financial aid programs and services.
  • Provide counseling to students and parents regarding all aspects of financial aid both in person and via telephone
  • Advise and assist students in completing forms and understanding available sources of assistance.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, policies and guidelines set forth by federal, state and institutional policies.
  • Assist with all aspects of financial aid application processing including verification, grant and loan processing and packaging of fall, spring and summer populations.
  • Adjust awards and student budgets for changes in enrollment status or eligibility.
  • Certify eligibility for Federal Direct, Plus and Graduate Plus loan programs.
  • Handle confidential information with tact and discretion.

  • Ability to interact with a diverse group of faculty, staff, students and parents and to develop strong working relationships with colleagues, staff, administrators and students.
