Job description


The Rapid City Clinical Campus of the Sanford School of Medicine is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Program Assistant. This role is integral in coordinating programs and activities to support medical students. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional communication skills, thrive in a collaborative environment, and demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft 365 and other modern technologies.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Student Support & Orientation:
    Plan, coordinate, and execute student orientation into their clinical clerkships. Provide ongoing administrative support to students throughout their clinical training.
  • Collaboration with Community Health Systems:
    Serve as a liaison between the medical school and community health partners to ensure seamless student placements and effective communication.
  • Meeting Coordination:
    Assist Education Coordinator in preparing agendas and reports for monthly advisor meetings. Take, transcribe, and distribute accurate meeting minutes.
  • Resource Management:
    Maintain and update campus student guides, handbooks, and online resources to ensure current and accurate information is available.
  • Testing & Assessments:
    Coordinate logistics for student testing and assessments, including scheduling, room setup, and technology support.
  • Support for Scholarly Work:
    Assist the research coordinator and students with scholarly activities, including project logistics, resource gathering, and communication.
  • Community Engagement:
    Support the campus in planning and participating in community relations and engagement initiatives.
