Job Summary

The Restorative Justice Assistant Coordinator assists the agency in providing additional restorative practices monitoring, modeling and effectiveness at local schools and community. Assistant Coordinators oversee staff and provide additional supports to facilitators, school administrators, and schools. Assistant Coordinator help facilitators develop stronger skills under the direction of the Program Manager. The Assistant Coordinator is to ensure the program needs are met and provide continued support to staff as needed throughout the school year.

Job Description

Responsibilities

• Implement Restorative Justice interventions under the direction of the RJ Manager.
• Coach, mentor, and support Facilitators in implementing Restorative Justice program at each school.
• Facilitate complex cases in and out of schools, co-facilitate as needed, and provide school coverage during high caseloads or staff absences.
• Guide Facilitators in selecting appropriate interventions, including one-on-one meetings, Dialogue Circles, Focus Groups, and Goal-Setting Meetings.
• Model and demonstrate restorative practices, day-to-day responsibilities, and agency expectations for new and existing staff.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with school administrators and student support staff to strengthen school climate and culture.
• Provide regular updates and reports to school administrators and respond to building needs.
• Review Facilitator documentation for accuracy and completeness and ensure weekly case submissions.
• Assist with collecting required program documentation.
• Assist with creation and delivery of presentations, professional development, staff training, and onboarding of new Facilitators.
• Lead discussions and breakout sessions during Professional Development meetings.
• Participate in monthly Team Lead meetings and perform other duties as assigned.

• Knowledge of established restorative practices techniques.
• Ability to actively listen, facilitate dialogue, and problem solve.
• Ability to facilitate small group discussions based on the needs of the school community.
• Ability to maintain an organized approach to meet various schedules and deadlines.
• Ability to communicate and present ideas clearly and effectively with facilitators, students and school personnel.
• Ability to process, summarize, and accurately convey the communication of others.
• Ability to meet and provide services to various committees, teachers, school administrators, and program participants.
• Ability to operate standard office equipment (e.g. copiers, faxes, etc.) and use various computer programs such as Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite is desirable.
• Ability to understand and empathize with the motivating factors behind challenging or poor choices in the school community.
• Ability to build and sustain relationships with staff and students that embody care and concern.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
