The Program Assistant will support the Child Development Leadership Team to ensure the Early Head Start/Head Start Program meets or exceeds the Head Start Performance Standards, in line with the Child Development Philosophy.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Perform administrative and program support activities, including assisting Administrative Staff with Policy Council and related Advisory Councils (mailings, meetings, etc.).
- Perform general clerical duties such as photocopying, faxing, mailing, and filing.
- Maintain multiple tracking databases.
- Assist with program special events and trainings.
- Assist with all end-of-month paperwork.
- Assist with the purchase, distribution, and inventory of materials.
- Understand and support managers with licensing and Performance Standard requirements.
- Assist with purchasing equipment and materials.
- Provide support to classrooms as needed.
- Record monthly statistics.
- Support program School Readiness goals and objectives.
- Record recruitment information as needed.
- Assist in reviewing start-up paperwork.
- Participate in annual program self-assessment.
- Obtain and report program In-Kind.
- Attend training and meetings as required.
- Adhere to Agency Personnel Procedures.
- Perform other duties as requested by the Child Development Leadership Team.
Qualifications:
- AA/AAS degree preferred or a combination of education and work experience.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality with co-workers, customers, peers, and the general public.
- Experience working with Word, Excel, and Microsoft Office.
- Highly accurate and organized with excellent attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to maintain positive, professional working relationships.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Willing and able to travel to all Head Start sites, training, home visits, etc., as needed.
- Must pass an annual physical examination and CPS Clearance.
- Ability to relate to people from varied backgrounds.
- Basic computer and arithmetic skills.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
