The Institute for Human Development (IHD), University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities, at the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC)
The UMKC Institute for Human Development, University Center on Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (IHD) is an applied research and training center for human services designed to exemplify the University’s goals of engaged scholarship and community partnerships. Its functions include interdisciplinary training, applied research, community program development, and information dissemination. The CtLC Nexus, housed at UMKC Institute for Human Development, supports the “intersect of Charting the LifeCourse ideas, collaboration, and transformation.” As implied by “nexus,” it is the central hub connecting groups, ideas, and resources. The CtLC Nexus provides infrastructure for stakeholders to engage with a growing network, learn from each other, share stories, and build capacity. It also partners with organizations to enhance and innovate resources, training, and practices, and disseminates these through access to resources, training, and technical assistance.
The IHD seeks an experienced leader for a Program Area Specialist III role. This collaborative position contributes to the development and expansion of the Charting the LifeCourse Nexus training, technical assistance, and knowledge translation efforts. The role involves supporting projects related to systems, organizational, and practice-level changes across education, aging, disability, and social services sectors.
The Program Area Specialist III reports to a Sr. Project Coordinator. The position is based on the UMKC campus, with some travel as required.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
Starting salary is approximately $51,875 annually, commensurate with experience. The position is eligible for university benefits, including health plans, retirement, paid leave, and educational discounts. Review of applications begins immediately and continues until filled.
