Job summary

The Salvation Army NSC-Smithfield Corps in Smithfield, NC is seeking a part-time Recreation Assistant to support child-centered programs. You will follow age-appropriate lesson plans, assist with homework, serve snacks and maintain safe, clean spaces for children.

Applicants should have a High School diploma or GED and two years of relevant church-based child development experience; CPR and First Aid certifications are required to ensure child safety.

Responsibilities

• Provide constant care for the needs of the children.
• Implements lesson plans which are age-group program specific.
• Provide homework assistance as needed.
• Prepares and serves children's snacks meals.
• Cleans the kitchen, classrooms, tables, bathrooms, etc. in accordance with established standards.
• Monitor children on the bus during transportation.
• Ensure the safety and protection of children at all times.
