Program Administrator, Startup Accelerator Program

Location: US-NY-New York. Hybrid Remote Work Classification: Fully Onsite: 100% Onsite. Department: EI Administration. School/Division: Office of the Vice Provost for Research (WS1763). Compensation Grade: Band 52. Employment Type: Full Time. Category: Academic Program Support.

Position Summary

The Program Administrator, Startup Accelerator Program administers the functional execution of the NYU Leslie Entrepreneurial Institute's research-to-market initiatives, most notably the Startup Accelerator Program. The role facilitates the professional delivery of programs designed to transition ideas into startups and orchestrates all phases of the program lifecycle, including application and selection processes, speaker and mentor engagement, and the implementation of founder onboarding and success frameworks. The administrator serves as a primary liaison for the founder community, connecting academic researchers with the Institute's entrepreneurial resources, and oversees day‑to‑day needs of the Leslie eLab, manages functional workflow improvements, and ensures the integrity of data collection and reporting processes. The role leads student‑facing initiatives and supports broader Institute goals, aligning program objectives with the Institute's standards and mission. In‑office presence five days a week is required, with hours that may extend into the evening to accommodate operational needs.

Qualifications

Required Education: Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree

Required Experience:

  • 2+ years relevant experience in project management, communications, events management, and/or community management.
  • Experience planning and implementing administrative activities and event planning on a budget.
  • Experience with data collection, management and analysis.

Preferred Experience:

  • 2+ years experience working in customer success and/or community management.
  • Prior experience working on a startup.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, customer service, organization, and project management skills.
  • Ability to manage program logistics, solve problems and interact with individuals at all levels.
  • Strong proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, databases, communications and productivity tools, and comfort and curiosity for learning new tools and systems.
  • Strong data analysis and database management skills.
  • Ability to track and project‑manage an event budget.
  • High attention to detail, strong work ethic, and ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast‑paced, high‑profile environment.
  • Strong team player and willingness to jump in to support colleagues.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Visual presentation/communication skills via Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Database management and data analysis.
  • These skills are preferred but not required.
Additional Information

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $76,500.00 to USD $93,500.00. NYU considers factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, and market considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, or other compensation.
