Locations : Serves Multiple Sites.

Provide leadership in developing vision, implementation, and planning for sustainability of the Special Education program through collaboration within school-based programs and services. The Mental Health Professional will oversee the implementation of therapeutic social workers in special education programs, including program development, evaluation, oversight, and coordination of MA billing for school social worker and school psychologist IEP services. They will also provide clinical supervision for SSW & psychologist staff. The role involves collaboration with administrators and staff as part of the special education leadership team and direct support to schools in planning, organizing, and managing services and programs.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Collaborating with principals, department leads, staff, and the supervising director to ensure students' rights and adherence to policies and laws.
  2. Developing and implementing curricula, instruction, and assessment practices for students receiving special education services.
  3. Collecting data for staffing, reporting, and evaluation purposes.
  4. Recruiting, interviewing, and evaluating staff in collaboration with principals.
  5. Providing training and support on best practices and therapeutic supports.
  6. Responding to crises and supporting families navigating community and mental health systems.
  7. Supervising staff training, meetings, and communication systems.
  8. Monitoring due process procedures and providing technical assistance.
  9. Collaborating on professional development and performance improvement plans.
  10. Managing budgets and expenditures for special education programs.
  11. Leading conflict resolution efforts and establishing program standards and criteria.
  12. Providing assessment and program planning support for students with disabilities.
  13. Participating in evaluation, district committees, and training to ensure compliance with laws and policies.
  14. Supporting students and families in crisis and managing 3rd party billing.
  15. Coaching staff on due process functions and other responsibilities as directed.

Minimum Qualifications include:

  • Director of Special Education License
  • Licensed Mental Health Professional (LPCC, LICSW, CSP) or Board Certified Clinical Mental Health Supervisor
  • MN teaching or related license (e.g., School Social Worker, Psychologist, Counselor)
  • Leadership and experience in special education and collaboration
  • Knowledge of MN and Federal laws and rules
  • Experience with curriculum, instruction, assessment, and interventions
  • Dispute resolution skills
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, organization, and technology skills
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse individuals and groups

Preferred Qualifications include:

  • Experience in special education administration
  • Leadership experience supporting Mental Health Professionals

Salary :

$112,893 and up, DOQ, plus benefits. Additional terms available.
