Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Lead the full product lifecycle for a portfolio of continuing and professional education programs from ideation to launch and optimization.
  • Direct end-to-end course development in partnership with instructors, SMEs, and instructional designers.
  • Set timelines, milestones, and deliverables; hold partners accountable to them.
  • Drive pricing, positioning, and competitive differentiation based on market data.
  • Identify market opportunities and translate findings into new program concepts and enhancements.
  • Manage vendor and instructor relationships, including recruitment, contracting and renewal decisions.

Purpose

Reporting to the Manager of Professional Programs, the Program Administrator leads and directs a portfolio of continuing and professional education programs, holding full ownership of vision, strategic direction, and end-to-end product development. This is a role that combines strategic authority with hands‑on execution: the Program Administrator sets the direction not only for current programs, but for the future evolution of the portfolio, translating market intelligence and industry trends into high-impact learning products that serve professionals and drive organizational growth.

We are looking for an experienced professional to join our collaborative team, take full ownership of an assigned portfolio of programs, and serve as the driving force behind both current program performance and the vision for future product lines. You will lead close collaboration with instructional designers, faculty, and subject matter experts to build and launch new offerings end to end.

Responsibilities
Strategic Portfolio Leadership & Product Development

Lead the full product lifecycle, from ideation through launch and ongoing optimization, for an assigned portfolio of continuing and professional education programs, applying adult learning principles and design best practices. Responsibilities include:

  • Owning and articulating a compelling product vision and multi-year growth strategy for current programs and future portfolio expansion
  • Directing end-to-end course development from concept through launch, including curriculum architecture, content sequencing, and assessment design in close partnership with instructors, subject matter experts, and instructional designers
  • Setting project timelines, milestones, and deliverables, and holding internal and external partners accountable to them
  • Making data-informed decisions on pricing, positioning, and competitive differentiation
  • Identifying market opportunities and translating them into concrete business requirements, new program concepts, and program enhancements
  • Serving as the primary relationship manager and decision‑maker for vendors and instructors, including recruitment, contracting, performance oversight, and renewal or termination decisions
  • Ensuring curriculum quality and optimal student experience across all delivery channels, including relevant Learning Management Systems
  • Providing hands‑on operational leadership and real‑time problem‑solving as needed
Market Intelligence, Compliance & Financial Performance

Serve as the definitive subject matter authority on market dynamics, industry standards, and program performance for assigned portfolio. This includes:

  • Leading ongoing competitive analysis and needs assessments to keep programs relevant, differentiated, and future‑ready
  • Monitoring industry trends through professional association engagement, expert networks, and current literature, and translating findings into actionable recommendations
  • Ensuring full compliance with applicable accreditation and university requirements
  • Owning full program financial performance: managing direct costs, producing P&L statements, setting financial goals, and delivering portfolio performance reports to leadership
  • Using student evaluation data and program metrics to drive continuous improvement and inform decisions on future offerings
Stakeholder Engagement & Cross‑functional Collaboration

Operate as a communicator, connector, and thought leader across the organization, including:

  • Building alignment with colleagues, unit directors, and senior leadership through regular, structured updates and strategic recommendations
  • Leading cross‑unit collaboration to advance shared goals and resolve challenges
  • Representing the program portfolio in planning discussions on future product direction and organizational growth opportunities
  • Maintaining thorough documentation to support continuity, transparency, and accountability
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of experience designing, developing, or delivering training or professional development for adult learners, including experience with end‑to‑end course development
  • Demonstrated experience partnering with instructional designers, faculty, and subject matter experts to build curriculum from concept to launch
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and a track record of developing and executing a product or program vision, including planning for future product direction
  • Strong financial acumen, including experience with budget management, P&L ownership, and financial analysis
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence at all organizational levels
  • High degree of initiative and ability to operate with autonomy and sound judgement in a fast‑paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to working across teams and with external partners
  • Willingness to travel occasionally as needed

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a relevant field
  • Experience in higher education, workforce development, professional associations, or corporate training environments
  • Track record of launching or scaling multiple educational programs or professional development offerings, including leading products from concept through market launch
  • Experience directing the work of instructional designers or cross-functional project teams
  • Familiarity with program coordination, Project Management software and Learning Management Systems
Salary Range

$65,000 + depending on qualifications

Employment Eligibility
