Job summary

INSURICA INC is seeking an Underwriter II to manage a book of commercial lines business, underwriting, marketing, and production within established guidelines and authority. You will support profitability and growth while mentoring junior underwriters and ensuring quality processes.

Responsibilities include reviewing submissions, binding renewals, documenting analyses, and building strong relationships with clients and carriers. Travel to producer locations may be required.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of commercial underwriting (casualty) experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in related work experience.
• Insurance-related certifications/designations (CIC, INS, CPCU, AU) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite risks for assigned producers/team within guidelines and authority.
• Review, quote, and bind new submissions and renewal business.
• Meet premium production objectives by writing profitable business.
• Market First Light products to brokers, prospects, and insureds.
• Document files with analysis and financial documentation.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients and carriers.
• Assist in training new underwriting personnel and develop reports.
• Monitor activities to avoid errors and omissions; maintain confidentiality.
