Job summary

Brown University’s School of Engineering invites applications for a full-time faculty non-tenure track position at the rank of the Practice, with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2027. We seek a visionary educator and scholar in design engineering and engineering practice, with a preference for work advancing sustainability and treating environmental constraint as a core design consideration.

Qualifications

• Education: A Ph.D. or equivalent in Engineering, Engineering Education, Design, or closely related discipline by appointment.
• Scholarship: Independent program with potential for external support per rank.
• Teaching & Mentorship: Commitment to excellence in undergraduate and graduate teaching and mentoring a diverse student body.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses across the School's curriculum.
• Advise undergraduate and master's students.
• Contribute to the joint Master of Arts in Design Engineering with RISD (MADE).
• Serve on School and University committees and contribute to curricular leadership.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary groups and university initiatives.
