Job summary

Qualifications

• Terminal degree (M.F.A.) in visual art or a closely related field preferred; candidates with substantial experience and pursuing terminal degree will be considered.
• Experience in university-level teaching and mentoring is preferred.
• Active Christian and LCMS membership are preferred as part of Concordia’s community.

Responsibilities

• Teach studio art courses with flexibility across drawing, painting, and two-dimensional design.
• Develop courses integrating faith and learning and contribute to curriculum development.
• Advise and mentor students and engage in recruitment efforts for the Art Department.
• Provide leadership for student internships and establish industry contacts.
• Collaborate with faculty across departments to support university initiatives.
• Pursue scholarly research and ensure art facilities and supplies are maintained.
