Job summary

Rose State College in Midwest City, OK seeks a Professor of Nursing Science to teach courses in the Nursing Science Program, develop syllabi, and coordinate didactic, laboratory, and clinical components. You report to the Program Director and Dean, Health Sciences Division.

The role requires a BSN and Oklahoma RN license, with at least two years of clinical teaching experience; a master's in nursing is preferred. Candidates may participate in program and college committees and advisement.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with Oklahoma license in good standing.

ACADEMIC AFFAIRS ANNOUNCES AN OPENING IN THE HEALTH SCIENCES DIVISION

POSITION: Professor, Nursing Science

Description of Duties:

Responsible for teaching assigned courses in accordance with the course syllabi and the schedule of the Nursing Science Program. Report directly to the Program Director and the Dean, Health Sciences Division. Teach fifteen (15) credit hours per semester and maintain a minimum of fifteen (15) office hours per week. Develop and maintain course syllabi and materials. Teach collaboratively withing the Nursing Science Program to include: didactic, laboratory and clinical components. Assist with student advisement; committee work for the Program and the College. Assist with skills lab testing. Regular attendance is an essential function of this position. Perform other related duties as assigned by the Program Director and/or the Dean, Health Sciences Division.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and willingness to pursue a graduate degree in nursing at a minimum rate of six (6) semester hours/calendar year.
• Registered Nurse holding a valid non-restricted license to practice in the state of Oklahoma.
• Two (2) years full-time equivalent in a clinical setting prior to first date of employment as a nursing faculty member.
• Light lifting up to 10 lbs. and light carrying up to 10 lbs.
• Ability to reach above shoulder.
• Periods of time spent sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, bending and stooping.

Desired Qualifications:

• Master's Degree in Nursing.
• Experience in medical-surgical nursing, critical care, women's and children's health and/or psych-mental health.
• Previous teaching experience in a program of nursing education; experience teaching online coursework.
