Job summary

Gisma invites applications for a professorship to lead teaching across bachelor and master programmes. The role includes examination duties, supervision, and ongoing curriculum development within a versatile, international academic setting.

Qualifications

  • Expertise in core software engineering areas with knowledge in subfields like software architecture, testing and QA, or agile methodologies.
  • Proficiency with modern programming languages, frameworks, and tools such as Java, C#, Git, Jira or JUnit/NUnit.

Your Responsibilities
  • Module responsibility and teaching of Gisma Bachelor and Master programmes as well as examination, assessments, and student supervision.

Your profile
  • For an appointment you will need to fulfil all requirements according to Section 42 ff of the Brandenburg Higher Education Act (BbgHG). See the following link:§42 ff. BbgHG.

Among others the requirements for professorship are:

  • Completed university studies.
  • Proof of extraordinary qualification for scientific work in the form of an outstanding doctorate and/or outstanding scientific publications.
  • Qualified professional experience in the field of the professorship, at least three years, two of them outside of a university after having obtained a master’s degree or equivalent.
  • You are experienced in teaching in university classrooms, with blended and online approaches. Your students confirm in their evaluations an excellent quality of teaching and pedagogical aptitude.
  • You have a high affinity for computer science topics.
  • You have strong expertise in core areas of software engineering, with specialised knowledge in at least one subfield such as software architecture, testing and quality assurance, or agile development methodologies.
  • You demonstrate practical proficiency with modern programming languages, frameworks, and state-of-the-art tools and technologies commonly used in the industry, such as Java, C#, Git, GitHub Actions, Jira, or JUnit/NUnit.
