The tutor will meet with students to improve reading skills, provide study‑skills instruction, and create a positive learning environment. The position requires 25‑29 hours per week at daytime and evening, with possible weekend work.

Responsibilities

• Provide tutoring in courses offered by the university, focusing on reading comprehension, study skills, and academic progress.
• Develop individualized study plans and oversee brainstorming strategies to enhance reading progress.
• Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions and appointment lengths.
• Communicate regularly with the Senior Learning Excellence Specialist and other specialists regarding student progress.
• Engage proactively with students and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum 5 years of related experience in education or tutoring.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal communication, reasoning, and group work skills.
• Knowledge of language processing or learning challenges and ability to assess academic abilities and monitor progress.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of services provided.
