Job summary

DLZ Corporation in Columbus, OH seeks a Professional Surveyor to perform surveying assignments, establish right-of-way lines, and provide mapping for projects. You will work under the Survey Department Manager and mentor office and field personnel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Surveying / Mapping, or related field.
• Ohio Professional Survey license is required (ability to license in surrounding states a plus).
• 5+ years of experience as a Professional Surveyor.
• Civil3D and Tremble Survey equipment experience preferred.
• Ability to visit and safely traverse construction sites and comply with safety codes.

Responsibilities

• Perform surveying assignments with solid principles and professional judgement.
• Work under supervision of the Survey Department Manager.
• Establish right-of-way lines and property boundaries from field data and records.
• Provide mapping for engineering projects and construction plans.
• Prepare and certify plats, maps, descriptions, reports, and exhibits.
• Mentor survey office and field personnel in duties.
• Adhere to Health and Safety Plan; perform other duties as assigned.

DLZ Corporation currently has a Professional Surveyor position available in Columbus, OH.

What You'll Do:

• Perform surveying assignments requiring a solid grasp of surveying principles and the exercise of professional judgement.
• Perform work under supervision of the Survey Department Manager.
• Ability to establish right of way lines and property boundaries from field collected data and public records.
• Ability to use collected data to provide mapping for engineering projects and construction plans.
• Prepare and certify various types of plats, maps, descriptions, reports, and exhibits.
• Assist and mentor survey office and field personnel in the performance of their duties.
• Perform all work in a safe and responsible manner, in accordance with the Health and Safety Plan.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Surveying / Mapping, or another relevant field.
• Ohio Professional Survey license is required. The ability to become licensed in surrounding states is a plus.
• Have the ability to obtain ODOT Right-of Way Designer/Reviewer Certification.
• 5 or more years relevant experience as a Professional Surveyor.
• Civil3D and Tremble Survey equipment experience preferred.
• Ability to visit and safely traverse construction and project sites and complying with all applicable safety codes and requirements, including a validdriver's license.
