The Senior Professional Staff Nurse BSN OR is a Registered Nurse and a member of the care delivery team. This role sets the standards for the level and quality of care, with responsibility, authority, and accountability for nursing care provision. The Senior Professional Staff Nurse BSN OR manages and provides patient care activities for a group of patients and their families through independent judgment, communication, and collaboration with team members. This role encompasses leadership, partnership, collaboration, and supervision. The Senior Professional Staff Nurse, OR, establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with physicians, healthcare providers, patients, and families to achieve desired outcomes throughout the continuum of care. The Senior Professional Staff Nurse BSN OR demonstrates a commitment to the community and the nursing profession.

Work Schedule: Rotating shifts—predominantly day shifts (7 am-3:30 pm), rotating to evening shifts (1 pm-9:30 pm or 3 pm-11:30 pm), and night shifts (9 pm-7:30 am or 11 pm-7:30 am); weekends and holidays; on-call. Specifics will be discussed during the interview.

  • Utilization of preference cards, knowledge, and experience to learn and anticipate procedures and surgeon preferences (in scrub and circulator roles).
  • Translate learned skills to other practice facets (e.g., using knowledge of how to scrub a procedure to better anticipate team needs).
  • Perform scrub role (required for RNs hired on or after July 1, 2023).
  • Perform duties in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors.
  • Other duties as assigned.
