Job summary

WithumSmith+Brown seeks a Tax Supervisor to join a collaborative team across multiple offices including Boca Raton, FL and Orlando, FL. You will lead tax engagements, supervise staff, and cultivate strong client relationships while preparing complex corporate and partnership tax returns.

The role requires a CPA, or progress toward certification, with 4+ years of public accounting. Strong communication, mentoring ability, and willingness to travel are essential as you contribute to strategic tax

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting and CPA ongoing or achieved.
• Licensed CPA or pursuing CPA with parts passed.
• 4+ years public accounting experience.
• Excellent client service and communication skills.
• Ability to lead and mentor staff.
• Willingness to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead audits from planning to completion and supervise staff.
• Mentor junior staff and maintain client relationships.
• Prepare complex C corp., S corp., and partnership tax returns.

You'll work alongside an integrated team of seasoned, well-known CPAs and industry leaders. But our commitment goes beyond our clients as we continue to live the Withum Way, promoting personal and professional growth for all team members, clients, and surrounding communities.How you'll spend your time:Preparing complex C corp., S corp. and partnership income tax returnsPreparing high net worth individual returnsReviewing mid-level complexity C corp., S corp. and partnership income tax returnsReviewing mid-level complexity individual returnsResearching and drafting memorandum involving complex tax mattersIdentifying tax planning opportunitiesHandling and resolve tax controversiesTraining and supervision of staff accountantsThe kinds of people we want to talk to have many of the following:Bachelor’s Degree in AccountingLicensed CPA, or working towards CPA certification with parts passedMasters of Science in Taxation is preferred but not requiredAt least 4 years of public accounting experienceExceptional client service and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationshipsAbility to manage multiple engagements and competing projectsStrong leadership, training, and mentoring skills, coupled with excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills to represent the Firm well to client’s managementExcellent analytical, organizational, project management skills, strong attention to detail, and proven innovative problem-solving skillsAbility to travel as neededThe compensation for this position ranges from $90,000 – $170,000 in Maryland and New York City. In addition to the base compensation, Withum offers a competitive benefits package and bonus program (for eligible roles) based on individual and firm performance. Final offer amounts are based on multiple factors such as the specific role, hiring location, as well as the individual’s skills, experience and qualifications.
