Job summary

Role Description The Professional Sales Consultant is a full-time, hybrid role based in Harlingen, TX, with some work-from-home flexibility. This role focuses on guiding individuals and families through pre-need and at-need arrangements by providing consultative, compassionate sales support for SCI’s products and services. Day-to-day responsibilities include meeting with clients in person and virtually, explaining available options, preparing proposals and contracts, and following up to ensure understanding and satisfaction. The Professional Sales Consultant collaborates with location staff to coordinate service details, maintains accurate records in sales systems, and meets or exceeds sales and service performance goals. The role also involves ongoing training, participation in community outreach activities, and adherence to all company policies and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, listen actively, and build trust with diverse clients.
• Proficiency in sales and consultative selling, including identifying needs, presenting solutions, and closing agreements in a respectful and ethical manner.
• Experience with sales operations, such as managing pipelines, documenting activities in CRM or similar systems, and meeting performance targets.
• Background in training or a demonstrated ability to learn and apply new information, participate in ongoing development, and share knowledge with peers.
• High level of professionalism, integrity, and empathy when working with individuals and families planning or experiencing loss.
• Comfort working in a hybrid environment, with reliable transportation for local meetings in Harlingen, TX and suitable workspace for remote tasks.
• Effective organizational and time-management skills, including prioritizing multiple client needs and administrative responsibilities.
• Basic computer literacy, including email, word processing, and web-based applications; familiarity with sales or CRM software is an asset.
• Prior experience in sales, customer-facing roles, or the funeral, cemetery, or related service industries is beneficial.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in business, communications, or related fields is helpful.
