Utah State University seeks a Professional Practice Assistant Professor in Chemistry. The role involves teaching inorganic chemistry, developing research programs, and contributing to departmental service. Candidates must have a PhD in Chemistry and teaching experience.
The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Utah State University invites applications from outstanding candidates for a Professional Practice Assistant Professor faculty position in chemistry, with an estimated start date of August 1, 2025. The successful candidate will be expected to consistently demonstrate teaching excellence, particularly in inorganic chemistry, and effectively contribute to research and service activities. Preference will be given to applicants with teaching experience in inorganic chemistry and research interests that complement existing department programs. Applicants must have earned a PhD in Chemistry or a closely related discipline; postdoctoral experience in experimental inorganic chemistry is preferred.

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry (http://www.chem.usu.edu/) offers BS, MS, and PhD degrees in Chemistry and in Biochemistry. The department has a very strong record of attracting extramural research support while emphasizing quality teaching. The department is housed in two adjacent buildings (total 124,000 square feet) and is equipped with modern instrumentation, including NMR and EPR instruments staffed by a PhD scientist, as well as additional shared analytical instrumentation. The department currently enrolls 300 undergraduate student majors and 40 graduate.
