Hickory Mechanical is looking for a skilled Welder to join our growing organization. If you are looking for a career with advancement opportunities, top-of-the-industry pay rates, and an excellent benefits package then join our team today.

Responsibilities:
  1. Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures.
  2. Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements.
  3. Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws to match measurements).
  4. Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded.
  5. Align components using calipers, rulers, etc., and clamp pieces.
  6. Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal, or overhead).
Requirements and Skills:
  1. Proven experience as a pipefitter.
  2. Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures.
  3. Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers, etc.)
  4. Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
  5. Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face shield, gloves, etc.)
  6. Proficient in English.
  7. Professional Certification (e.g. an AWS welding certificate) will be a plus.
