Job summary

New Grad in Chicago offers a structured internship in insurance underwriting and related analytics. You will participate in reviewing submissions, preparing referrals, and shadowing underwriting calls to understand decision-making processes.

As a junior or senior student with a focus on risk management and related fields, you will analyze loss runs, track submission metrics, and support outreach to brokers while developing professional communication and public speaking skills.

Qualifications

• Actively completing a bachelor’s degree in Risk Management and Insurance, Economics, Business, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related program.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA or higher.
• College level - current Junior or Senior student, with graduation dates ranging from December 2027 - May 2028.
• Strong proficiency in understanding financial statements.
• Exemplary written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong presentation and public speaking skills.
• Strong analytical skillset, with a keen ability to think through issues
• Entrepreneurial spirit along with the desire to be a continuous learner.
• Team player who collaborates effectively.
• Self-starter who can work independently and deal effectively with multiple tasks/priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Location & Work Arrangement

• The program dates are June 2, 2027 - August 6, 2027.
• This position is classified as a hybrid position. You will work 3 days onsite and 2 days from home.
• This position is located in Chicago.
• Relocation and housing assistance is not provided for this role.

Timeline

Pay

The breadth in the range exists to accommodate students in specialized programs such as actuarial candidates and graduate students. Any actual rate offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, along with the education & qualifications of the candidate. The above range may be modified in the future.

$24 per hour
