Job summary

Arch Insurance Group Inc. offers a Summer Internship in Risk Management & Insurance with hands-on exposure to claims across Arch products. The program runs June 2, 2027 – August 6, 2027 and is hybrid, with three days onsite and two from home.

Locations include NYC metro area, Chicago, or Alpharetta. Pay is $26/hour in NYC metro and $24/hour in Chicago and Alpharetta; relocation is not provided. Arch benefits apply.

Qualifications

• Actively completing graduate degree in Risk Management & Insurance, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Pre-Law, or related program.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA or higher.
• College level - current Junior or Senior student, with graduation dates ranging from December 2027 - May 2028.
• Strong proficiency in understanding financial statements.
• Exemplary written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong presentation and public speaking skills.
• Strong analytical skillset, with a keen ability to think through issues
• Entrepreneurial spirit along with the desire to be a continuous learner.
• Team player who collaborates effectively.
• Self-starter who can work independently and deal effectively with multiple tasks/priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with oversight and management of claim files for various Arch Insurance products.
• Understand the terms and conditions of the various insurance products that Arch writes.
• Understand the processes involved in creating a best-in-class claim handling experience for Arch’s customers.
• Gain exposure to claims from different lines of business.
• Contribute to the completion of claims-related projects and tasks during the internship.

About This Internship

Arch’s internship program offers students a unique opportunity to gain hands on experience in the insurance industry.It provides challenging learning experiences that serve as a foundation for interns to explore their career choices and to develop professional skills.Working alongside some of the most talented members of the specialty insurance industry, interns will gain relevant expertise in various aspects of the field, participate in learning activities and receive ongoing feedback.

Location & Work Arrangement

• The program dates are June 2, 2027 – August 6, 2027.

• This position is classified as a hybrid position. You will work 3 days onsite and 2 days from home.

• This position can be located either in the NYC metro area(Morristown, Jersey City, NYC, Garden City) or in Chicago or Alpharetta .

• Relocation and housing assistance is not provided for this role.

Arch internship positions will be unposted when filled.

Pay

For individuals assigned to or hired to work in the NYC metro area, the hourly rate is $26 as of the time of posting, for Chicago and Alpharetta, $24 per hour. The breadth in the range exists to accommodate students in specialized programs such as actuarial candidates and graduate students. Any actual rate offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, along with the education & qualifications of the candidate. The above range may be modified in the future. Intern position is eligible for select Arch benefits.
