SCOR Group seeks a Professional Liability Intern in New York to assist underwriters with risk assessment, pricing, and policy terms. The role involves data analysis, underwriting reports, and supporting initiatives within a hybrid work model.

Candidates should be pursuing a bachelor’s degree, demonstrate strong analytical, writing, and interpersonal skills, and be proficient with PowerPoint and Excel. Relocation within the U.S. is available; sponsorship is not required.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing bachelor’s degree, preferably an incoming Junior.
  • Self-starter, highly motivated candidate with a strong analytical aptitude.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and strong writing and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.

  • Focus on professional liability clients in the large corporate sector including Law Firms, Accountants, Construction Professionals, Consultants, and other Miscellaneous classes.
  • Analyze underwriting submissions for new and renewal accounts. Assess various risk exposures, review policy wordings, determine price adequacy, and produce underwriting reports.
  • Assist group in performing tasks designed to gain an understanding of the Professional Liability marketplace
  • Work with underwriting staff to analyze and improve broker relationships
  • Analyze notable trends and macro factors to help determine optimal portfolio breakdown
  • Research and present a final project to the Professional Liability staff

Job description

The Professional Liability Intern will work with underwriters using both quantitative and qualitative analytical skills to understand and assess risk profiles and determine appropriate price, terms and conditions of a policy. Other job function expectations include: ensuring appropriate file documentation and compliance; assisting direct manager with various departmental projects as necessary.

Responsibilities

Pay Range for roles performed in New York: $25.50-$27.50 hourly rate. Actual salaries may vary based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, role and performance. The range listed is just one component of SCOR's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long term incentives. In addition, we provide a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance
coverage, life and disability insurance, a retirement saving plan, paid holidays and paid time off.
