Professional Liability Associate | Hybrid, San Francisco | $155,000 to $185,000 plus bonus

Lawyers make terrible clients, and in legal malpractice defense every client is one. They’ll read your draft answer more carefully than the judge will and they’ll have views on your citations.

It’s mostly legal malpractice, plus claims against real estate agents, insurance agents, appraisers, land surveyors, developers, design professionals and directors and officers. You’d run the file with the lead lawyers, taking and defending depositions, handling the discovery both ways and writing the reports carriers want on their schedule.

You’d need 3 years or more of civil litigation and to be admitted in California. Associates get to mediate, arbitrate and try cases alongside the firm’s trial lawyers.

It’s based in San Francisco and hybrid, with part of the week at home, and it pays $155,000 to $185,000 plus bonus, with health cover and a 401k.
