The Professional Learning Manager at Discovery Education is responsible for overseeing the life cycle of our professional learning facilitators (PLFs), ensuring they are well-prepared, supported, and engaged in their roles. This position involves strategic collaboration, system creation, recruitment, onboarding, coaching, and performance assessment to enhance the quality and impact of professional learning sessions.

In This Role You Will

Leading Projects

  • Lifecycle Management: Leading the life cycle of Discovery Education’s professional learning facilitators (PLFs) to ensure our talent is prepared, supported, and engaged in the work
  • Strategic Partnership: Collaborating with our team of PL implementation specialists on ways to improve the support we provide our PLFs
  • Quality Monitoring: Developing and maintaining systems and processes to monitor and assess session quality, working directly with PL implementation specialists for feedback and support of PLFs
  • Recruitment: Leading the recruitment process for contract workers including sourcing, interviewing, and hiring
  • Onboarding: Designing and executing comprehensive onboarding programs for new PLFs
  • Coaching Model: Creating a scalable coaching model, collaborating with the PL implementation specialists enhance performance
  • Performance Metrics: Developing performance metrics in partnership with the Senior Director of Professional Learning to measure delivery success
  • Data Driven Decisions: Using data in collaboration with regional implementation specialists and PL Ops team to drive decisions that support PLFs Cross-Team Collaboration: Working with Partnerships, Partner Success, and PL Ops teams to improve processes that positively impact the teachers Discovery Education serves

Supporting Professional Learning Deliveries

  • Coaching and Mentoring: Providing support and coaching to a subset of PLFs
  • Facilitation: Delivering professional learning sessions as needed

Credentials And Experience

  • Degree in Education or equivalent work experience
  • At least 5 years of experience teaching in a K-12 environment required
  • Proven experience in coaching educators in a formal capacity
  • Expertise in recruitment, onboarding, and upskilling adult learners
  • Ability to develop and implement performance metrics
  • Ability to travel up to 60% during peak seasons (Jun.-Sept.)
  • Legal right to work in the United States

This role is designed to be remote, working across multiple time zones. You can expect to work mainly from your home office with travel up to 60% during peak seasons.
