Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of experience in Land Surveying or 4-6 years of progressive experience.
  • Valid Professional Land Surveyor license in Wyoming required.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Design recommendations for construction projects
  • Coordinate and schedule land survey projects
  • Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and policies
  • Review land survey work products
  • Produce detailed reports
  • Review preliminary plans and recommend changes
  • Prepare survey data for highway design
  • Research land ownership maps
  • Apply boundary control and legal principles
  • Coordinate with contract services
  • Support right-of-way engineering and land conflicts
  • Certify reports, plats, and plans
  • Address technical questions
  • Resolve legal description conflicts
  • Prepare court presentations and serve as an expert witness
  • Record final documents
  • Maintain historical survey records
  • Explain policies to groups or individuals
  • Make professional boundary and property ownership decisions
  • Review right-of-way plans and establish boundaries
  • Perform Contract Administration duties
  • Survey, test, and inspect construction projects
  • Train crews in software, procedures, and safety
  • Check documentation and quantities for payments
  • Maintain positive public relations
  • Partner with contractors to ensure project quality and safety
  • Ensure compliance with WYDOT standards
  • Review plans, reports, and data for accuracy
  • Calculate alignments from survey data

KNOWLEDGE:

  • Surveying concepts, laws, and practices

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Land Surveying

Experience: 1-2 years in Land Surveying

Certificates: Valid Professional Land Surveyor license in Wyoming (license number required)

OR

4-6 years of progressive Land Surveying experience with license
