Job summary

Professional Land Surveyor (Finance)



H2M architects + engineers , a multidiscipline architectural/engineering/environmental consulting firm seeks a Professional Land Surveyor. Successful candidate will be responsible for selecting and applying standard surveying techniques in the field and office to plan, organize, and execute land surveying projects.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Receive instructions on specific assignments, objectives and complex features
  • Performs a variety of in-office and field tasks associated with land surveying projects obtained by the company
  • Broad understanding and experience for operating surveying equipment, such as Total Stations, Data Collectors, GPS RTK & Static Observations
  • Accurately calculates and records field data
  • Reviews job specifications and plans fieldwork methods and costs
  • Apply standard scientific/engineering techniques, procedures and criteria, using judgment in making adaptations of standard methods and techniques in the field and office
  • Review and download field data
  • Prepare field notes and draw sketches of existing site conditions
  • Prepare detailed daily job reports and discuss projects with supervisor on daily basis
  • Maintain and troubleshoot complex instrumentation
  • Drafting and editing of surveys using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Perform other like duties as assigned

Education and Qualifications:

  • Professional Land Surveyor License Required (State of NJ)
  • Must have substantial survey experience and strong knowledge of survey calculations, techniques and procedures
  • Minimum 6+ years of experience
  • Demonstrated ability to use sound judgement when making decisions
  • Valid Driver's license
  • Ability to stand, climb and walk continuously during an 8-hour period
  • Ability to perform strenuous work in a varying climate (heat and cold, etc)
  • Must have good computer skills and be able to learn survey related software
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Working knowledge of AutoCad

The salary range for this role is $80,000 - $100,000 annually.
