Job summary

DTK Site Solutions is seeking a Professional Land Surveyor in Ohio to collect and analyze property data, support growth, and lead surveying projects. You will collaborate with project leaders to plan surveys, develop data collection methods, and manage staff.

The candidate will work with AutoCAD, Carlson, BIM, GPS and 3D laser scanning tools to create accurate land maps and legal descriptions, while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance. Travel up to 4–5 hours from HQ.

Qualifications

• Licensed in OH or IN or willing to obtain license in either state
• Professional Land Surveying/Geomatics experience or related degree
• Strong knowledge of surveying technology, principles, techniques and practices
• Working knowledge of safety precautions in the industry
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Carlson, BIM, GPS and robotic total stations
• Experience with 3D laser scanners and aerial photogrammetry is a plus
• Willingness to travel up to 4–5 hours from HQ (overnight stays not usually required)

Job description

As a Professional Land Surveyor, your primary responsibility will be to collect, analyze and measure property data to support the growth of DTK Site Solutions.

Additional Responsibilities Include:

• Coordinating with project leaders to accurately plan and schedule survey projects
• identifying survey goals and determining the appropriate survey methodology
• Develop questionnaires to gather survey data relevant to the organization's projects
• Maintaining, testing & calibrating equipment & instruments used in the survey process
• Supervising the administration of surveys and ensuring they are completed on time
• Selecting, managing, training, and evaluating key members of the survey staff
• Analyzing historical land records and prior survey maps to determine survey specifications
• Communicating with management and submitting detailed survey & progress reports
• Conducting quality control checks and identifying data anomalies on completed reports
• Staying up to date with industry trends, surveying techniques, and regulatory guidelines
• Using specialized software tools, such as Trimble Business Center, Carlson, Autodesk Civil 3d, Topcon Magnet office, and Revit to create 3D models of land maps
• Plotting official property boundaries and drafting legal descriptions, plats, and easements

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Must be licensed in either OH or IN or be willing to obtain license in either state
• Prior experience in Professional Land Surveying, Geomatics, or related degree
• Strong knowledge of surveying technology, principles, techniques, and practices
• Working knowledge of industry occupational hazards and safety precautions
• Strong knowledge of AutoCAD, Carlson, BIM, GPS, and/or robotic total stations
• Prior experience with 3D laser scanners and aerial photogrammetry a Plus, but not nec.
• Willingness to travel up to 4-5 hours from HQ (overnight stays are typically not required)
