Job summary

Austin Community College seeks a Professional Lab Assistant (Hourly) to support Fashion Design courses and programs. The role includes lab setup, safety oversight, and assisting students with course work, under non-classroom hours.

With no direct supervision, you will coordinate with instructors, monitor attendance, and maintain a safe, organized lab environment. Priorities include lab cleanliness and proper equipment shutdowns. ACC offers flexible part-time hours and a focus on student success.

Responsibilities

• Provide support during non-class/open lab times for Fashion Design courses and programs.
• Communicate with instructors to monitor attendance and participation during lab time.
• Serve as communications liaison for Fashion Design courses and programs and provide information regarding offerings.
• Assist students attending lab as needed to support progress and comprehension.
• Maintain lab cleanliness and ensure safety with Code of Conduct compliance.
• Ensure equipment is running and turned off at end of lab sessions; secure labs at end of time.
