We are looking to add a Professional Groomer to our team at Culebra Creek Veterinary Hospital & Resort.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES (may include but are not limited to):

1. Grooming and styling pets according to pet owners’ instructions or standard grooming styles.
2. Trimming pets’ nails, brushing their teeth, and cleaning their ears.
3. Accommodating special requests from pet owners.
4. Ensuring all pets are safe during grooming.
5. Cleaning work areas routinely.
6. Recommending suitable products to pet owners.
7. Answering client questions with a friendly attitude.
8. Keeping the receptionist informed about pets ready for pick-up.
9. Supporting the Mission, Vision, and Values of Destination Pet.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Professional grooming experience is required.
• Maintaining a professional manner at all times.
• Ability to work under pressure while following proper procedures.
• Good time management, patience, and a positive attitude.
• Ability to operate a phone, computer, and learn facility software.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Familiarity with animal behavior, body postures, and hair textures.
• Must be a pet fanatic—pets are part of our family!

Physical requirements:

• Bathing involves sitting, standing, walking, and lifting over 50 lbs.
• Exposure to disinfectants, animal hair/fecal matter, and hot/cold temperatures; ability to get wet.

PAY:

You can choose:

1. Start at an hourly wage for 60 days, then switch to commission.
2. Or be hired at 50% commission (or 40% with a bather), with 30% on basic baths if applicable.
