Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System is seeking a Nurse Educator to execute educational experiences that promote competent and quality patient care. The role supports clinical staff in knowledge and skill development, reporting to the campus Manager or Director of Clinical Education and Professional Development.

The position emphasizes evidence-based practice, interprofessional collaboration, and ongoing professional growth within Memorial Hermann’s safety and service standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required.
• Current State of Texas license or temporary/compact license to practice professional nursing required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

Responsibilities

• Performs competency management including needs assessment and monitoring of compliance.
• Develops and disseminates fundamental educational content/programs utilizing various learning methods/domains.
• Applies Nursing Professional Development (NPD) scope and standards into practice.
• Participates in interprofessional collaboration with learners and other stakeholders utilizing effective communication.
• Demonstrates awareness and understanding of Evidence Based Practice (EBP)/research/quality initiatives.
• Coaches and provides feedback to preceptors and/or orientees and assesses orientation progress.
• Monitors the internal and external environments for opportunities and challenges that may affect professional practice gaps.
• Facilities learning, change and professional role competence and growth.
• Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required.

Licenses/Certifications

• Current State of Texas license or temporary/compact license to practice professional nursing required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

Experience / Knowledge / Skills

• Two (2) years of nursing experience required.
• One (1) year education related experience preferred.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
