Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System seeks a Nurse Educator to execute educational experiences that promote competent patient care. The role supports clinical employees in knowledge acquisition and professional development, reporting to the campus Manager or Director of Clinical Education and Professional Development.

Experience in neuro space is valued; nursing licensure in Texas and BLS are required, with at least two years of nursing experience and one year in education preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is required.
• Current State of Texas license or temporary/compact license to practice professional nursing is required. Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.
• Two (2) years of nursing experience required. One (1) year education related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs competency management activities including needs assessment, gap analysis and monitoring of compliance.
• Develops and disseminates foundational educational content using various learning methods.
• Coaches and provides feedback to preceptors and/orientees and assesses orientation progress.
• Promotes safe care and adheres to Memorial Hermann policies and standards within budget and resource constraints.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Monitors the internal and external environments for opportunities and challenges that may affect professional practice gaps. Facilities learning, change and professional role competence and growth. Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service. Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as a resource to less experienced staff.
